Dan Ho's "Rescue From Domestic Perfection" is really good
by Madame Quixote ini obtained a copy of the book at 60% off because the local discovery channel store is closing shop.
i also obtained some great shelves on the cheap from the store, something i've been shopping for for a while.
anyhoo, as a profoundly thwarted perfectionist, a la jehovah's witness-style, i find this book both heart-warming, comforting and smart.

A companion animal was mauled to death by a pair of pit bulls today.
by Madame Quixote ini was in the middle of a family-related meltdown when it happened.
the two stray pit bulls were in my yard as i left the house to deal with my daughter's defiance over something stupid.
i was gone for about ten minutes, and left some of her things at her boyfriend's apartment (with an eviction notice for her).. when i got back home the terriers were still in the yard, lounging around like it was their own!

Mmmm! Gotta' try Wensleydale cranberry cheese . . .
by Madame Quixote init's got to be the best cheese i've tried in years.
i decided to treat myself to something nice tonight cuz i was feeling a bit blah.. took a brisk walk on the beach and felt 90% better.
when i tried this lovely cheese with galway pipe port and cuban bread (also things i've never tried before), i was up to 100%.

Mom's 65th Birthday . . . weird dreams . . . reminders and foreboding
by Madame Quixote ini just need to make a note somewhere on the planet of my mother's 65th birthday.. it happened in a little, inconsequnetial town, in an inconsequential place, on an inconsequential day, but it impacted me in every way, because without its occurrence, for better or for worse, i would not be here to acknowledge it.
and because no one else ever will, that is what i am here for this evening.. my mother was probably born on that day (yesterday), march 24th, and no one in the familiy cares and i am not sure what day it was (could have been march 4th), but it's been etched both consciously and unconsciously in my brain for many years.. i was not aware of the exact date when i went to bed friday night (as usual), but when i awoke saturday moring (twice) i had two weird mother-daughter dreams that made me wonder what the heck was going on in my mind .
it did not take long for me to realize that my mom's birthday had perhaps come (and gone) at the second dream awakening.. in the first dream, i was a nursing mother (of my currenly 19-year-old daughter.

Ever blown-off your non-JW family due to cult dynamics or whateva?
by Madame Quixote ini shouldn't have done this, but i did it, and don't know if i regret it or not.
i guess i am in deeply narcissistic mode or something.. the plan was to meet my aunties for dinner here in my town, but i started projecting the night before about their motives for both suddenly being here, one announced (and one unannounced until the last minute).
i suspect it has something to do with my jw grandma's declining health, but who knows?
